Chief Operating Officer | Technical Director | Director
Dan Graul (He/They) is the COO and Technical Director. Dan’s journey with YADA began in 2007 as a Director and he’s served in many capacities since then. Long been driven by a desire to collaborate, Dan’s passions moved him from school choirs into theatre performance, direction, design and anything he could do to help make a show. He received a BA in Theatre with a minor in Dance from Southeast Missouri State University and built a life as a performer, working with various tours and regional theatres before landing in LA. Dan and his wife Rebecca met teaching together at YADA and now live happily with their cats and a family of musical instruments. They created psychedelic folk band Northern Strangers, playing Pink Floyd albums live and synced up with video projections around LA and on tour. Dan plays in psych improv group YHWH with Lee Harcourt and Pagan rock storytelling duo Half Tongue Tribe with David Lebarron. Dan released an album called Make America Love Again and has since released more singles on streaming platforms. You can also find him around the theatre community serving as both Sound Designer and pit musician. Follow Dan on IG at @northernstrangers
