SERIOUSLY SILLY!

SUMMER & FALL IMPROV CLASSES!
Your child will develop their emotional intelligence, creativity, confidence, critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills—all in a fun, supportive environment of ensemble-based games that are the foundation of improvisational theater.
YADA’s Improv Program curriculum is based on Viola Spolin’s theater games and use of the educational and social benefits of play. Considered the mother of improvisational theater, Spolin’s games and exercise have a focus, a problem to be solved by the players as a group, by getting them out of their heads—we ask them to “think” less and respond with their imagination and heart while working with and learning from others.
Spolin called transformation the heart of improvisation. You are never alone in an ensemble; what you have to offer the group is YOU and we think that’s beautiful. Together we will make something amazing.
YADA’s improv teachers will take your kids on a heart and soul adventure in a “Return to Play” environment using the tenets of improvisation like agreement (Yes; and!), listening, and making your partner look good. Yes, through improv games we are having a Rockin’ good time (and!) together we are developing basic life skills.
Classes are two-hours, once a week, for seven weeks and will be broken up into age groups: 6-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-18. Each class will demonstrate what they’ve been working on for their friends and family on the last day of class. See below for class information!
