Welcome To The YADA Family!
Whether you are returning to YADA or you are just becoming familiar with YADA for the first time we want you to feel right at home. So to make things a little easier we have prepared answers to some common questions.
Please take the time to review this information with your child and if you still have questions you may direct them to our YADA staff by clicking HERE or call us at 323-655-9232.
Where Do I Belong?
YADA programs are offered all year round including 10 week musical theatre classes during the school year, camps during the summer and retreats offered during spring and winter breaks. And offered for each class, camp and retreat is training for every age group, starting with the youngest age group (YADA TOTS) and ranging all the way up to teenager; audition only classes geared for the serious performers.
The best way to get involved is to read about our classes we offer here and then join us for our latest season by heading over here to register!
Which Class Should I Sign Up For?
YADA offers classes for students ranging in ages of 3 - 18 years. YADA offers programs that challenge yet encourage students no matter which age group they are in.
In some cases students fall into an age range where they can choose between two classes. This was designed into YADA's program to cater to the specific developmental level of each child and performance experience.
To get a complete description of who each class, and so you can select just the right class for your child, please click here.
If you still have questions about which class you should sign up for contact us here and a YADA staff member will be in touch with you soon.
Age guidelines for YADA classes:
During the school year students must be or turn the correct age for the class by the following dates: October 1st for Fall Session, February 1st for Winter Session, May 1st for Spring Session
For Summer camps, students must turn the correct age within the summer camp dates that they are enrolled in.
When Does My Child Advance?
YADA offers classes for students ranging in ages of 3 - 18 years.
Initially students are placed into a class based on their age and their specific developmental level and performance maturity. As the student progresses in YADA, classes, camps and retreats they graduate to the next level.
There are only two levels that require an audition before the student is admitted. Jr. Master and Master. To qualify for these levels a student must schedule their audition with YADA administrative staff here.
For further information regarding your child's specific advancement please contact the YADA office here.
Celebrations!
If your child wishes to celebrate their birthday or other milestone such as a cast party here at YADA, we welcome the opportunity to celebrate together! If you do choose to bring in any food items for the entire cast such as cake or cupcakes, we ask that you please let the office know at least a day in advance so that we may alert the rest of our families in that cast who may have children with allergies or dietary restrictions. This will allow those families to provide their children with celebratory snacks that they can also enjoy. We take great pride in creating the second Happiest Place on Earth here at YADA, and we want to include ALL children in that happiness!
Sick Policy
- fever
- diarrhea
- vomiting
- consistent cough
- sneezing
- runny nose where discharge is yellow or green
Please help us prevent the spread of germs by:
- Keeping even mildly ill children home.
- Washing your children’s hands frequently (soap & warm water for the length of "Happy Birthday" twice or "The Alphabet Song" once) and teaching them cough and sneeze etiquette.
We do this not only for the health of other children but our staff as well. These policies are meant to serve the best interests of the children and our staff. If you have any questions concerning this policy and whether your child should attend our program or not, please contact us before bringing them in.
Immunizations
- If the student is medically exempt, a doctor's note is required to attend YADA.
- Personal belief exemptions are not accepted.
COVID-19 VACCINES
- All YADA staff members are fully vaccinated for in person camps.
- YADA strongly encourages all children 12 and over to get the Covid-19 vaccine. If any of your children are 12 or older, please let them know about the importance of getting vaccinated and help them get to a vaccine site where they can get the Pfizer vaccine. Click here for vaccine information.
- If your child does have the Covid-19 vaccine, simply upload a copy of it to your parent portal. Please cover all medical information.
