History of the Third Street Theatre
What do Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Red Skelton, Gene Kelly, Madonna, Michael Jackson and the celebrities of “Dancing with the Stars” all have in common? They have all danced on the floors of the THIRD STREET THEATRE! This historical building served as a rehearsal studio & supper club in the 1940’s for CBS, Raleigh, and Paramount Studios. In the ‘80s and ‘90s, the building became the famed “Dupree Dance Academy” - where every dancer who dreamed of stardom trained. The current home to YADA (The Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts), for the past 20 years, the THIRD STREET THEATRE is proud to announce its transformation into a 99-seat Equity Waiver Theatre, available for rentals and productions in the heart of West Hollywood, and the ultra-trendy Third Street Shopping area!

Rebirth of the Third Street Theatre
In the Fall of 2009, we took the first baby steps towards the birth of Third Street Theatre. With the support from our community of families and friends Third Street Theatre took shape and grew into it’s new form of a 99-seat equity waiver house.
Garnering rave reviews from LA Times, LA Weekly, Broadway World, Stage Scene LA and many others for theatrical productions of The Full Monty, The Falsettos, The Burnt Part Boys and The Last Five Years the Third Street Theatre has solidified it's place in L.A. as a mainstay in all forms of theatrical productions.
You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown
From the critically acclaimed theatre company that brought you Falsettos, The Last Five Years, The Full Monty and The Burnt Part Boys, take a leap into the funny papers with this beautiful show. Third Street Theatre (TST) and YADA are proud to present a special engagement of the complete Broadway Revival version of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. It has been said that this family friendly musical is "an average day in the life of Charlie Brown." And, it really is just that, a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening.
- TST's professional directorial staff of Richard Israel, JJ Todd, Lisa Katz with live band lead by Rebecca Norris.
- Cast includes YADA staff as well as professional actors.
- A portion of the ticket sales go towards the YADA scholarship fund.

Falsettos Superbly Staged Revival
In the Fall of 2011, Third Street Theatre staged a revival of Falsettos to a host of rave reviews. Included below is an excerpt from the Los Angeles Times...
"One of the more thoughtful and well-crafted musicals of the last three decades, the seldom-seen “Falsettos” shows its staying power in Richard Israel’s
superbly staged revival at the renovated Third Street Theatre.
Told entirely in song, this 1992 compilation of two one-acts by composer/lyricist William Finn explores the bittersweet relationships in a fractured family of neurotic New York Jews during the years flanking the onset of Reaganomics, yuppie greed and the AIDS outbreak. Some period-specific plot elements notwithstanding, the show captures still-resonant complexities of love, commitment and responsibility through the comic timing, dramatic heft and singing chops of a thoroughly professional cast..."
